The next ESRG has been scheduled and hope to see everyone there will all the rods that were made during the stay at home time!

The 19th annual ESRG (Eastern Sierra Rod Makers Gathering) will be held at the Bridgeport Community Center, in Bridgeport, Califonia. Check-in and breakfast will start at 9:00am on the Saturday with discussions, demonstrations and casting to follow.

Feel free to drop by on Friday night for casual discussions, hors d'oeuvres and drinks. Please consider bringing an hors d'oeuvre, and there are warming facilities available.

Saturday is the main gathering day. Breakfast will be served at 9:00am, with lunch and a dinner.

Discussion will start after rod casting (please bring new and old/classic bamboo rods with reels and line to cast).

The agenda has not been finalized, but will be listed here shortly.

The "Taper Quest" conpetition will be held on Saturday. All rods must be 7'9" to 8' 5wt. ready to cast (i.e. with line, reel, leader etc.) any geometry.The winner gets a nice trophy and bragging rights for a year!

Join us to share in lively discussions, the auction (for parts, tools and supplies) and hands-on rod making tips, tools and techniques for the novice and experienced bamboo rod maker alike. Gain valuable insights or new ways to jumpstart, tweak or begin this hobby. Cast a wide variety of bamboo fly rods, talk to the makers and enjoy good food and the company of others interested in fly rod making. Your entry fee of $50 (click to download the entry form) gets you breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday as well as a self-hosted get together on Friday night, beginning at 6pm. Please bring an hors d’ oeuvre to share and your favorite drink for Friday evening. There is also an informal breakfast on Sunday morning.

There is plenty of trout fishing available nearby in several lakes, Bridgeport Reservoir and the famous Walker River.
Come for fun, encouragement, fishing lies and terrific bamboo fly rods. If you own some, please bring them, complete with reels and line. We enjoy both vintage and newly made fly rods.
